Bradford Bulls winger Jorge Taufua was found guilty at an RFL tribunal last night, and has been banned for their next six games.

That means he will miss the rest of the regular Betfred Championship season, but will be available to feature in the play-offs if Bulls make them.

Taufua was handed a Grade F biting charge for an incident during the defeat to Barrow.

But his interim head coach, Lee Greenwood, felt that the opposition player had simply put his arm in Taufua's mouth, leaving the winger helpless to do anything.

He and the club vowed to vehemently defend Taufua at his trial, and did so.

And while the Grade F biting charge was downgraded to Grade E contrary behaviour, the former Wakefield player was still found guilty and banned for those next half-a-dozen Bulls games.

That ban begins at home to Newcastle on Sunday, and runs up to, and includes, the final game of the regular season at Sheffield next month.

Taufua also picked up a fine of £375 for the incident.

Bulls' CEO Jason Hirst, speaking after the decision was made, said: "The club are naturally disappointed at tonight’s outcome.

"We won’t be making any further comment at this stage."

Bradford are able to appeal the verdict if they so wish.
