JORGE Taufua faces another few days of waiting before learning whether he will be hit with a lengthy ban.

The winger, signed from Wakefield earlier this season, has been charged with biting an opponent in Bulls’ loss to Barrow last Monday, and if found guilty at tribunal, will be suspended for at least six games.

The hearing was expected to take place last night, but will instead be held at some point over the next week.

Given Bradford have a free weekend due to the 1895 Cup final taking place between Halifax and Batley on Saturday, any ban would still rule Taufua out from Bulls’ game against Newcastle on Sunday, August 20.

Bulls intend to vehemently defend Taufua at the trial, with the club and interim boss Lee Greenwood feeling he has been unfairly penalised.

One player who was hit with a lengthy RFL ban last night was former Bulls man Brad Gallagher.

The second-row now plays for Newcastle, currently bottom of the Betfred Championship.

He has been suspended for six matches, and fined £500, after pleading guilty to a Grade F charge of using unacceptable language in a recent league fixture against Swinton Lions.

The Grade F charge covers “verbal abuse based on race, colour, religion, gender, sexual preference, disability, national or ethnic origin or any other form of unacceptable Behaviour or language”.
