It has been quite the few weeks for head coaches in the Betfred Championship.

Bradford Bulls have brought in Catalans' assistant coach Eamon O'Carroll on a three-year deal from 2024, Keighley Cougars hired club icon Matt Foster in their desperate fight against relegation, and Widnes have poached Swinton's boss Allan Coleman.

There has also been drama around Halifax and Featherstone.

The pair faced off on Sunday night, with Fax keeping the pressure on their play-off rivals with a stunning 25-22 win over the runaway leaders, just hours after Bulls had put their top-six hopes firmly back on track by dismantling Batley.

That was just Featherstone's second defeat in 21 games, but the favourites for promotion to Super League have now made the call to sack head coach Sean Long.

Former York City Knights boss James Ford, who has been director of rugby at Fev since May, has been placed in interim charge until the end of the season, and will look to lead the side up to the top flight instead.

Halifax's own long-serving boss Simon Grix is departing at the end of the season, and is rumoured to be taking on a Super League role at Hull FC.

His former assistant at The Shay, Liam Finn, has been strongly linked to take over the vacant position.

Finn is currently in charge of League 1 leaders Dewsbury.
