BULLS’ Lee Greenwood admits he has had concerns about his side’s discipline even before he took interim charge.
It was a key factor in them losing at Widnes last month and at home to Barrow earlier this week, with an unimpressed Greenwood saying: “We compounded our errors by conceding penalties on Monday and the discipline was poor.
“It’s not something new though as it’s something I’ve seen regularly with the group.
“I can’t speak for previous seasons, but within the team this year it’s been a regular occurrence.
“I didn’t say anything in public while I was Mark Dunning’s assistant, but we’ve seen it a few times under Brian (Noble) and I as well.
“I’m bored of seeing it and we have to do something about it.”
Greenwood had suggested last week that Tom Holmes and Joe Arundel may not be ready to return from injury until the game with Newcastle on August 20.
But the experience pair both started against Barrow, with Greenwood saying: “I don’t think an extra week or two off would have made a difference for Tom or Joe.
“You don’t tend to be flying straight away in your first game back, just because you’ve been off the pitch for a while, but Tom was physically sound, he just had cramp at the end, it was nothing to do with his knee, and Joe’s calf was fine.
“We’ve been losing people generally so having Joe in the back row wasn’t ideal, and then he went back to centre when we had 12 men and had to change sides.
“But he came though fine and it was the right choice to play them both.”
Speaking on Wednesday about the latest injury situation, Greenwood said: “No-one who played against Barrow picked up a new knock and of those who didn’t feature, James Segeyaro hasn’t trained yet, so we’ll see how he develops over the next few days.
“Brad England is banned for Sunday anyway, but he went over on his ankle in training before Barrow, so he looks like being out for a few weeks.
“Chester Butler, with having a fracture to his hand, is a couple of weeks into probably six weeks out, and we’ll see how those guys are going with the week off we have between Batley and Newcastle too.”
