BRADFORD Bulls’ inept decision-making cost them dearly in their bid to take advantage of a huge opportunity at Odsal Stadium this evening.

The hosts knew that a victory against Barrow Raiders would see them seize the upper hand in the playoff race following Halifax’s defeat at Sheffield on Friday night.

However, architects of their own downfall, Bradford put in a poor display and ultimately cost themselves a precious victory with an error-stricken performance, which saw Jorge Taufua sent off for an alleged bite.

Ryan Shaw was on hand to slot five penalties for the visitors, while the wingman also scored Barrow’s only try of the evening.

On another day, he could have had a further two penalty goals but the post saved Bulls from further damage.

A late try from Ben Blackmore, which came after Jayden Myers’ own effort, nearly set up a grand stand finish for the hosts but it was too little, too late as the away side secured a 14-10 victory.

Bulls now face a tricky task when they travel to Batley Bulldogs on Sunday and they know a victory is a must on the road.
