BULLS have sent reserves winger Mackenzie Scurr, brother of first-team prop Ebon, on loan to Cornwall in League 1.

As is the case with the other Bradford youngsters who are playing in the third-tier, the thinking from boss Lee Greenwood is to give him more first-team minutes.

He will join another young Bulls reserve down on the south coast in Jaden Barraclough, with the pair both on loan deals at the club until the end of 2023.

They are also team-mates with Coby Nichol, who joined Cornwall on dual-registration from Bulls in 2022, before signing permanently for the League 1 side last winter.

Castleford youth product Scurr comes to Cornwall on the back of a fine try-scoring season in Bulls' reserves, bagging a fine hat-trick in the 38-28 win over the Salford Red Devils back in April.

He also recorded a brace in the victory over Huddersfield Giants earlier this month.

Explaining the decision to bring Scurr into the fold, Cornwall's head coach Mike Abbott said: "We are a little bit light out wide on the wing this weekend so we have had a look around and have decided to run with Mackenzie Scurr.

“He provides a genuine threat out wide and he’s really talented. He’s got great footwork and has played a bit for Castleford and has scored some great tries for Bradford this year.

“We’ve had a look at his highlights reel and its very impressive so we can now have a look at him playing for us and also for Mackenzie, he can look at us as a club.”
