BRADFORD Bulls Women’s hopes of making it into the Betfred Women’s Super League for 2024 took a blow at the weekend, as they were beaten 46-0 at Featherstone Rovers.

Fev are one of the favourites to go up to the new eight-team competition next season, with a place in that helping to boost clubs when it comes to IMG’s grading criteria.

They and Bradford are therefore fighting to get out of Super League Group 2, where they play presently, but there was only one team in it on Sunday.

The game was being played, as is tradition, in memory of Natalie Harrowell, who was a Featherstone player and England international when she tragically passed away in 2019 at the age of just 29 from a virus.

Her old teammates did her proud at the weekend, with Brogan Churm’s first-half hat-trick all but ending the game as a contest, putting the hosts 24-0 up at the break.

They did not slow down too much thereafter either, with Chloe Billington adding a second-half treble to ensure her side won 46-0.

The result means Bulls remain second-bottom of the six-team table, with a record of one win, one draw and three defeats so far this season.

Those finishing second to fifth will make the end of season play-offs, with the champions automatically promoted, so Bradford still have a real opportunity to make it up.
