BRADFORD Bulls marched on to a fourth consecutive Betfred Championship victory at home to London Broncos this afternoon, as Lee Greenwood’s interim reign continues to gather momentum.

The Odsal faithful bathed in the West Yorkshire sunshine as the home side ran in five tries to claim a 32-16 victory.

For Bulls, new man James Segeyaro deputised from the interchange bench having joined the club on June 3; bringing a wealth of experience to Odsal in the process after playing over 150 games in the NRL.

In the sweltering conditions, Bradford started aggressively and looked to get about the visitors from the get-go, and it only took the hosts two minutes to complete their first meaningful play of the afternoon.

On the final play of the set, Dec Patton sent a high kick to Broncos’ Jarred Bassett and he was met by four onrushing Bulls players to drag the fullback into the in-goal area.

From the resulting set Bradford had their first score. The ball was worked right to Ben Blackmore, and after throwing a dummy, he dived over to touch down in the corner; Patton added the extras.

The home side looked to have extended their lead further when the inevitable Patton-Gill combination worked a treat; this time the referee brought a halt to celebrations after declaring Gill as offside.

However, the hosts wouldn't be denied on minute 24; Gill initiating a fast break away down the left, he laid the ball off to Brad England and Bradford’s number 11 sent Tom Holmes racing clear to touch down under the posts. Patton added the extras to put the Odsal side 12-0 ahead.

Lee Greenwood's men showed a great deal of determination to heroically keep the visitors away from their try line, and rebuff any chance of a first half comeback; Foggin-Johnston making a standout tackle in the left corner to prevent an almost certain try for the London side.

With mercurial man Holmes in your side you stand any chance of adding more points to the board, and he was able to do just that for the hosts with five minutes left of the first half.

New hooker Segeyaro collected the ball before spraying a pass to Patton, who teed up the onrushing Homes. Throwing a dummy, he was able to spot a gap in the Broncos’ backline and go over for his second try of the afternoon and 11th of the season. Patton was on hand to make it 18-0 at the break.

It didn't take long for the hosts to extend their lead after the interval; Patton adding a penalty kick following a high tackle situation to send Bradford into a 20-0 lead.

The Bulls continued to defend expertly in the early stages of the second half, and they were fully rewarded for their dogged efforts as Gill went over for his 12th try of the season nine minutes later.

You know the drill by now? Bradford’s top try-scorer pounced on a brilliant Patton rubber kick to combine for Greenwood's side yet again. Bulls’ number six added the extras to put the hosts 26-0 up.

As the sun continued to beat down on the Odsal turf, a couple of errors started to creep into the host’s game. Following a penalty London managed to work a two against one break away, and Iliess Macani was on hand to put his side on the scoreboard for the first time, as he darted under the posts for a converted try; 26-6.

But back came the hosts for what was try of the afternoon. England broke clear and teed up Gill; he sent the speedy Foggin-Johnston clear, and he was on hand to return the ball to Gill for his second try of the afternoon.

With the game drawing to a close, the visitors took advantage of a tiring Bulls side, who were down by a man after Billy Jowitt went off injured, and added two consolation tries through Dean Whare and Macani to close the game at 32-16.

Bradford return to action against Halifax Panthers next weekend as they look to do the double over their West Yorkshire rivals, while they'll be chasing their five consecutive league victory.
