MATTY Foulds admitted it was nice to feel wanted after joining Harrogate for an undisclosed fee.

The Clayton-born left back still had a year to run on his City contract but has made the permanent move to Wetherby Road.

Foulds, who has signed an initial two-year deal, played 21 times on loan for Simon Weaver's side after joining them in the mid-season window - the same number of appearances that he had made for the Bantams last term.

“I am delighted to be here on a permanent basis now," he told the Sulphurites' club website.

“I have been in contact with the gaffer since the season finished.

"Speaking to him, I quickly realised that his aspirations are very similar to what I want for this club.

“It’s always nice to know someone wants you and I got that sense from the gaffer.

“I came in for the second half of last season and absolutely loved it so it was a no-brainer for me to come here.”

The former City academy youngster returned to Valley Parade in January 2021 and played 52 games for the club. He scored twice - against Harrogate and at Hartlepool.

His final City outing was in the goalless draw at Wimbledon in January.
