BRADFORD boss Mark Dunning has named his 21-Man Squad for this weekend's trip to tackle Barrow Raiders.

Dunning’s side are still having a tough time with injuries, including one to their newest recruit, but they have at least avoided a doomsday scenario with the mercurial Tom Holmes.

The former Featherstone and Huddersfield man has arguably been Bulls’ star man this season, and it was typical of his commitment to the cause that he hurt his knee making a stunning try-saving tackle in the club’s last game, a Challenge Cup defeat to Halifax.

Bradford head coach Mark Dunning admitted the last couple of weeks had been a rollercoaster waiting for news on the half-back, saying: “We thought it wasn’t a serious injury after the game.

“But after he was assessed by the doctors, it highlighted a few things that made us fear it was serious.

“Fortunately, after he was scanned, it cleared him of any ACL damage, which we had feared was the problem.

“That means we’re hoping he’ll be back in the next week or two, but he won’t be playing at Barrow on Sunday.”

Nor will Connor Wynne, the utility back who has joined on loan from Hull FC.

Dunning said: “Connor won’t be available, because he came here with injuries.

“He picked up knee and ankle problems in pre-season and to be honest, having assessed him when he got here, they’ve not got any better.

“We’re certainly hoping he’ll stay here and play for us after that Barrow game, but for now we’re just putting our energy into his rehab and getting him as fit and healthy as possible."

This weekend Tom Holmes, Keven Appo, Bodene Thompson and Ben Blackmore all miss out due to injuries sustained last time out, joining the likes of Michael Lawrence and Joe Arundel on the treatment table amongst others.

Bradford will be determined to return to winning ways after losing their previous two fixtures: first against Batley Bulldogs (21-16 defeat) in the Betfred Championship and then at Halifax Panthers in the Challenge Cup (26-0).
