CITY have today condemned fans throwing pyrotechnics during the Crewe game - as the club faces another FA investigation.

Several flares were lobbed onto the pitch after Andy Cook and Jamie Walker scored last night.

That led to lengthy delays before referee Adam Herczeg could resume the match - and will prompt an inquiry from the football authorities.

The club are now facing four investigations over pyro incidents in the Gillingham home game as well as away at Rochdale, Northampton and last night.

City are likely to be hit with fines - and could face further punishment including potential ticket and capacity restrictions.

Arrests were made at the Crewe game and the club have revealed that football banning orders are now at a record high. That has seen the cost in policing home matches rocket this season.

More than a dozen season tickets were seized by the club before the Gillingham game.

A report in the Telegraph & Argus last weekend said the Bantams were expecting to pay “80-90 per cent more” for crowd control.

Ahead of the final game of the season on Monday, the annual fixture marking the 38th anniversary of the fire disaster, City have issued a reminder of the severity of using pyrotechnic devices.

The statement read: “On what is always a hugely significant day for Bradford City, it is important for us to pay our respects to the 56 people who tragically lost their lives on 11th May 1985.

"Pyrotechnics are strictly forbidden, and the strongest-possible action will be taken against those found using them.

“Please consider your fellow supporters’ safety, help us pay tribute to those who we lost on 11th May 1985, and do not bring pyrotechnic devices into the University of Bradford Stadium."
