MARK Dunning insists there is no away-day hoodoo holding back the Bulls.

Sunday’s painful derby defeat at Keighley was their third loss out of seven in the Championship campaign.

All three have come away from Odsal, where the Bulls have rediscovered their best form after the struggles of last season.

They have not won on their travels since beating York in mid-August - the only victory in the last nine attempts outside of Bradford.

But Dunning felt the awful display at Cougar Park was down to a poor attitude rather than any travel sickness.

He said: “The concerning thing is that two of our worst performances of the year have been away from home.

“They’ve not been tight ones. Featherstone was a close-knit encounter but we were miles away from where we need to be at York and Keighley.

“(The away form) is not a concern as yet but it’s obviously something that we need to address.

“I don’t think it’s a prep issue. Prep throughout the week was really good and the boys had practised well.

“They were given the same information as they get every other week and followed the same processes.

“I think it was an attitude issue - and the fact we were out-enthused by a Keighley Cougars team.”

Dunning was alarmed by the lack of intensity in his team against fired-up opponents who clearly appeared to want it more.

“We spoke about it through the week and the players were under no illusions what it would mean coming to Keighley,” he added.

“The fact that it could be hostile and they do things slightly differently. They knew that and it shouldn’t have come as a surprise.

“They knew all, they’d been given all that information. I put it down to being out-enthused.”

The Bulls would have gone level on points with second with a victory after Sheffield, beaten at Odsal the previous week, thumped Toulouse.

“That’s this league,” said Dunning. “There are no bad teams and if you’re not on the money, you get your bottom cracked and we had ours done there.”

There is a break from Championship action on Sunday with the visit of Midlands Hurricanes in the Challenge Cup fifth round.

Dunning is still looking to bring in a new face well in time for the Easter Monday visit to Halifax.

“We’re working hard on it. I think we saw on Sunday that we need to shake things up and make sure some people are accountable for their lack of actions.

“We’re not going to throw the teddy out the pram. We’re working on signings, we were working on them before Sunday and we’ll keep doing that to make sure it’s the right person.”
