BRADFORD Bulls are keen to keep developing their close links with the Scottish national team, helping them out again a few days ago.

The finest young rugby league prospects north of the border were invited down to Tong on Sunday to make use of the facilities there.

With the Bulls players deservedly getting the chance to recover after their superb Betfred Championship home win over Toulouse Olympique less than 24 hours earlier, there was a full Scottish teenage invasion of Tong, with the country's Under-16s and Under-18s training inside the gym and out on the playing fields.

It was all part of an open trial and development day, encouraging anyone in those age groups eligible to play for Scotland to come and show what they were made of.

Leigh Beattie, a key figure in the Bulls' youth set up for many years, combines his role with the Championship side with being the head coach of Scotland's Under-19s.

Both he and Bulls head coach Mark Dunning were asked to help out with coaching Scotland's senior side at last autumn's Rugby League World Cup, a great honour for the pair, despite the Scots losing all three of their group games.
