SCOTT Banks will have to wait a bit longer for his City comeback.

The on-loan Crystal Palace winger has not been involved since the Boxing Day defeat at Carlisle because of a nagging injury on his shin.

He is back training - but won’t be in contention to face the Cumbrians again this weekend.

Mark Hughes said: “The weekend’s a bit early for Scott. He’s only just come back to full training.

“He’ll need a couple of weeks but it’s good to see him back on the grass again.

“It’s resolved itself. He was just finding it a little bit uncomfortable and it dragged on a little bit.

“But we’ve got to the point where he’s probably still feeling something but he’s able to train fully on it. He’s just got to get on with it now.”

Matt Derbyshire is pushing for his first involvement since linking up again with his former Blackburn manager.

“Matt’s all right. He just wasn’t available at the weekend but he is now so he’s good to go.”

And Hughes also revealed that Ciaran Kelly is getting up to speed. The Bohemians centre half was City’s first mid-season capture and has been building up his fitness levels gradually.

“I think Ciaran’s not far away,” added the Bantams chief. “He’s been training for a number of weeks now.

“He came with a slight issue, which we just managed and that’s resolved itself.

“He’s had a couple of weeks now of full training so he’s probably getting closer to the action.

“He’s training really well at the moment, so I’ve got to recognise that.”
