WEST Bowling have been handed an extremely generous Challenge Cup first round draw.

In their first fixture in the competition since a battling 28-22 third-round defeat to League 1 side Workington Town in 2020, Dean Muir's side will host Waterhead Warriors, a fellow National Conference League side, on February 11/12.

But while Bowling were beaten in the Division One play-off semi-finals in 2022, Waterhead were down in Division Three.

The Warriors had a good season, losing just four of their 22 games to earn promotion behind title winners East Leeds, but it would be regarded as a major shock if they could pull of victory at Horsfall.

If Bowling do make it through that first round tie, they face a tough ask at Lock Lane a fortnight later.

The Castleford side play in a division higher than their Bradford opponents, the NCL Premier, where they finished fourth last season.

Bulls' Women were also part of last night's draw at Wembley Stadium, as they learned their Challenge Cup group stage opponents.

It is an all West Yorkshire affair for the Bulls, as they will be taking on Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants and Oulton Raidettes in Group 2.

Those three group games for Bulls will be played between April 23 and May 21, with the top two going into the quarter-finals, which begin on June 18.
