LEE Angol has headed back south after moving to Sutton for an undisclosed fee.

The striker, who was out of contract at Valley Parade in the summer, becomes City’s third exit of the January window after Fiacre Kelleher and Tyreik Wright.

Angol played 20 times this season but started only seven games - the last in the FA Cup first-round home loss to Harrogate two months ago.

The 28-year-old, who made 42 appearances in total, hit seven goals in his first year with the Bantams but missed two lengthy spells with hamstring injuries.

Speaking earlier this week about those potentially leaving the club during the window, Mark Hughes said: “Clubs see good players who aren’t quite getting into the first 11 or the matchday squad. There’s a lot of interest, as you’d imagine.

“We’ve had inquiries for a lot of players and we have to look at every eventuality and judge them on their merits. We’ll do what we feel is best for Bradford.

“Some guys will leave and there will be other ins and outs. It’s just about managing the numbers and the cost if we do try and improve.

“It’s a case of making the right judgement calls on the make-up of the squad at the end of this window.”

Sutton boss Matt Gray said: ''Lee's a player I've watched for a long time and been impressed with, and locally based, and he'll add good competition to the forward line for the second half of the season.''
