FIACRE Kelleher will become the first January exit from Valley Parade after being recalled from Solihull Moors.

The Irish centre half has been on loan with the National League club this season, playing 20 games in all competitions and scoring one goal.

But that deal has been ended with a view to Kelleher completing a permanent move to another club in the EFL.

Moors boss Neal Ardley said: “Kells has grown as the season went on and became an immense part of our defence.

“He’s a great character and has earned himself a long-term deal in the Football League so our best wishes go out to him.”

The 26-year-old was signed by Derek Adams in the summer of 2021 but made only 11 City appearances.

His final start was in Mark Hughes’ first home win last April against Scunthorpe before coming off the bench in City’s 4-1 victory at Sutton a week later.

Meanwhile, Oscar Threlkeld is back at the club from his half-season loan at Oldham after suffering a knee injury. He played eight times for the Latics.
