BRADFORD Bulls have waved goodbye to Dalton-Desmond Walker, who has left the club despite only signing two months ago.

The prop forward joined Bradford's new-look 2023 squad in October, after leaving League 1 title-winners Keighley Cougars.

But in a shock, unexpected statement he posted on Instagram, he has confirmed he is leaving the UK to return home to Australia.

In the post, accompanied by pictures of his time in Europe, he wrote: "January 8 2018, Cardiff, Wales, to December 28th 2022, Manchester, England.

"1815 days away from Sydney, Australia and five rugby league seasons in League 1. I got to play for a few clubs here @west_wales_raiders_rl @keighleycougarsrlfc & @bradfordbulls.

"I’ve visited countless European countries and made memories I’ll cherish forever. I’ve won a trophy here and played international footy here and explored almost every part of the UK!

"It might be strange but I’m leaving the UK as I arrived, alone and in a hotel with a suitcase and not really sure on the next 1815 days ahead.

"I left home at 24 and called Great Britain home until now as a 29-year-old.

"From the Scottish islands down to the south west Welsh coast! No one knows about this post prior.

"To those who will read this with confusion please know I didn’t keep it from you for a negative reason."

He left West Wales to link up with Cougars in September 2019, and was part of their title-winning squad of 2022.

Desmond-Walker spent time on dual-registration with Bulls last season too, featuring for their reserves and in the side that drew a World Cup warm-up encounter with Greece.

But he will not be playing for Bulls in 2023 as expected, as they continue to prepare for their first fixture of the year against Dewsbury Rams on Sunday, January 15.

Bulls have yet to post anything on their social media pages about Desmond-Walker's departure, though Cougars have wished him well for his return to Australia.
