BRADFORD City congratulated the winner of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing after he was earlier compared to being like a player for the club.

Hamza Yassin, a star of children’s TV wildlife programmes, took the Strictly Come Dancing title after a competitive final last night.

His Bantams connection came after Strictly judge Anton Du Beke said Hamza’s tango looked like he “played centre forward for Bradford City” in an earlier programme in the series.

The cameraman and his partner Jowita Przystal took to the dancefloor for three dances in the final, beating Helen Skelton, Molly Rainford and Fleur East.

Now the Bantams, who had their home game with Rochdale yesterday postponed due to a frozen pitch, have tweeted their congratulations to Hamza for his TV show victory.
