MARK Hughes has urged Kian Harratt to look at the bigger picture after the striker’s dad moaned about his lack of game time.

The on-loan Huddersfield youngster was an unused substitute again in City’s draw with Wimbledon.

It was the third game in a row when Harratt has not been involved and that prompted his father Wayne to write on Facebook: "Get Kian Harratt home get him home to a place where he belongs."

Harratt, who has scored once for City in the Papa Johns Trophy, has started only one game so far in the Carabao Cup loss to Blackburn.

Hughes said: “Everybody wants to play. At the moment, it’s sometimes not possible to give opportunities to good players that we have in the group.

“Kian isn’t an exception to that. He’s one of many players who would want to play more often.

“But sometimes you’ve just got to bide your time, be patient and wait for those opportunities and be ready when they do occur.

“You’ve just got to recognise the situation you find yourself in. If someone ahead of you is playing well, you’ve got to accept that opportunities aren’t going to be forthcoming in the near future.

“But it’s about seeing the bigger picture and understanding when the opportunities come, you’re in the best place to take advantage of them.

“That means making sure you are training well and making sure you are ready to come on and make an impact.”
