MARK Hughes is keeping his fingers crossed for Dion Pereira and Romoney Crichlow to feature at the weekend.

Both missed the Stevenage win from injuries they picked up at Tranmere.

Neither trained today as the squad returned to Apperley Bridge but Hughes is hopeful of good news later in the week.

He said: “We didn’t have any fallers from the weekend. Pretty much everybody trained.

“Obviously not Rom or Dion but we’re hopeful at this point. They seem to be progressing but we’ll see how they are Thursday/Friday.

“We’ll make a decision reasonably early if we can but, failing that, we can give them more time if need be.”

City are already without Tyreik Wright for the Wimbledon game at Valley Parade.

He was due to fly to Dublin today to join up with the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad for their Euro qualifying play-off two-legger against Israel.

“He has had a good start but international football is a big opportunity for him and for his country to qualify,” added Hughes.

“He’ll hopefully come back on a high and they have qualified and we benefit from that.

“Obviously, the reverse of that if he gets disappointed, he can always pick himself up and go again here.

“He’s leaving here on the back of a really positive moment for him.

“We’ve got the benefit of the squad and examples like this are when the strength of it is really valuable. It’s up to me to make best use of that.”

He will not consider rushing Abo Eisa’s recovery as the winger continues his comeback from his latest lay-off.

“Abo’s not ready yet,” said the City boss. “He’s had no game time whatsoever.

“We’ve got games lined up that we can filter him into and get him up to speed. But he’s a number of weeks yet.

“He’s really training well and getting involved in all aspects of the sessions so he’s not missing out.

“He’s going to need a couple of weeks of that and then we’ll try and filter him into some game time.”
