THERE was a landslide winner in City's Goal of the Month vote for August.
When holding midfielder Richie Smallwood advanced with the ball towards the edge of the box against Newport on his weaker foot, no-one expected what came next.
But Smallwood was feeling confident in front of a packed Valley Parade, and he unleashed a left-footed rocket into the top corner.
And that goal picked up a whopping 67 per cent of City's Goal of the Month vote.
It beat some worthy contenders to the top prize, including Harry Chapman's fine solo effort in the same game.
Andy Cook's second goal against Hartlepool was also on the four-goal shortlist, as was Jake Young's first goal in the Papa John's Trophy at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
