THE RFL Match Review Panel have come down hard on both Bradford Bulls and Keighley Cougars following the latest round of matches.

Bulls are set to lose Aaron Murphy for their game at Halifax at the end of August, after he was handed a provisional one-match ban.

He has been cited for an alleged late hit on a York passer on Monday night, and charged with Grade B Dangerous Contact.

The details of the charge read: "A defending player makes contact with an opponent after the ball has been released by an opponent in a vulnerable position which causes flexion to the head, neck or spinal column on an attacking player, which poses an unacceptable risk of injury to that player."

Murphy is facing a one-match ban, meaning he is free to play Whitehaven this Sunday but not Fax the following weekend.

However, Bulls head coach Mark Dunning told the T&A that the club are considering an appeal against the suspension that has been handed down.

As for Cougars, they have two players facing bans following their win over Hunslet on Sunday.

Hooker Kyle Kesik has been charged with Grade C Dangerous Contact.

The panel ruled that Kesik committed dangerous contact while making a tackle during the first half against Hunslet.

As a result, the hooker has been given a two-match penalty notice.

Meanwhile, half-back Dane Chisholm, formerly a Bulls player of course, has been charged with a Grade B High Tackle.

The panel ruled that the tackle, for which the Australian was sin-binned during the game, was of a reckless nature, and he has been handed a one-match penalty notice.

Both Kesik and Chisholm are available for Sunday’s trip to Doncaster, with the penalty notices beginning for the following weekend’s visit of North Wales Crusaders to Cougar Park.
