MARK Dunning hopes the Bulls will shine and not shrink in the glare of the TV lights at York tonight.
They have lost all five of their televised appearances this season – including recent thumpings at Featherstone and Newcastle.
But Dunning’s side at least head to the LNER Stadium to face the high-flying Knights boosted by their first win for six games.
The 48-18 victory over relegated Workington was their first since June and the coach is looking to take that second-half display into the York clash.
“I wish I could find a way to bottle confidence because I’d be a rich man,” said Dunning.
“It’s tough when you’re down and you’re being kicked, and there’s challenges being thrown at you from every different angle.
“I’ve talked about us being in a glass jar and everybody looks in and points fingers. It was time to take the lid off.
“Winning breeds confidence so hopefully everybody can put their best foot forward for a tough game at York.
“They are a good side with a good coach in James Ford and they are littered with quality players.
“It’s going to be a tough test but we’re going to a fantastic stadium in front the cameras and it’s another opportunity to express ourselves. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can dish up.”
The Bulls are without Dec Patton for the remainder of the season after his seven-game ban for gouging. Dunning admits that has placed “unnecessary pressure” on the rest of the squad.
“It’s an act that carries a serious suspension and, yeah, it was expected. It leaves a hole with the goal kicking and the squad.”
