BRADFORD City took their League Cup winning form into League 2 as they grabbed a home victory in the scorching heat at Valley Parade.
Richie Smallwood and Harry Chapman sealed the points for the Bantams in 30C against Newport County.
Mark Hughes’ side will be hoping for a third league and cup win in a row when they travel to Essex tomorrow night to face Colchester United.
City have launched an investigation after a fan was hit by a flare during the Newport game, but we will focus on what happened on the pitch on Saturday.
Here are a few views from City fans on social media following the Newport victory.
The absolute worst thing to happen in yesterdays game was seeing Hughes in full suite and not a single drip of perspiration… the man is majestic and insane #bcafc

The only way yesterday could have been better would've been a couple more goals and a couple fewer degrees! ⚽🥵 #bcafc #upthechickens

Come on Huddersfield Town… you love us really #bcafc
No reason we can’t get 2 away wins next week very winnable fixtures feel like we shouldn’t be scared of anyone in this league #bcafc

#bcafc If my biggest complaint from today is that we should have won by more I’d say that means it was a good afternoon down at VP! More of them same please Sparky
