MARK Hughes would not comment on reports linking City with Crystal Palace winger Scott Banks.

The Bantams are among the League Two clubs who are said to be trying for the Scotland under-21 international on loan.

Hughes batted away questions about the 20-year-old this afternoon but suggested they might still be interested in more business in the window.

The City boss expects Emmanuel Osadebe to be out for around six months as he recovers from his broken leg.

Hughes confirmed that Alex Gilliead is fit to return to the squad this weekend at Barrow.

He also said that City are “keeping their options open” over bringing in another winger.

“Only if we think we can bring in a little bit of quality or something maybe a little bit different,” he added. "We’ll look at the options available to us.

“Some interesting things have been passed across me at the moment and we just need a little bit of time to go through them.

“Yeah, there’s a possibility we might still do some business. I’ve already said that, so our options are still open.”

Hughes has been in touch with Osadebe who has been in “good spirits” despite the setback of facing a lengthy time out in his first season at Valley Parade.

Hughes said: “It’s a serious injury and the likelihood is that we won’t see Manny this side of Christmas, obviously. You’re looking at five, six months plus.

“But the operation has gone well with no complications.”
