CITY’S visit to Bradford (Park Avenue) did NOT set a new attendance record at the Horsfall Stadium.

Avenue confirmed the official crowd figure for Friday’s first pre-season friendly was 2,583.

They also claimed that it was the highest for a game at the ground - beating the previous best by nearly 600.

But the club were forced to quickly back-track when supporters pointed out that more had watched them take on FC United of Manchester in 2011.

That pulled an audience of 2,785 - 202 more than saw the Bantams last week.

City retained the Tom Banks memorial trophy with a 2-0 win – new recruits Harry Chapman and Kian Harratt scoring the goals.
