ALEX Mellor's return to Bulls was a very brief one.

Six years after leaving the club, he came in from Leeds on dual-registration ahead of the game against Sheffield on June 12.

And he did a sterling job in the second row, helping Bulls to an impressive 30-10 victory at Olympic Legacy Park.

But interim Bulls head coach Mark Dunning will not get the chance to use him again this weekend at home to Dewsbury, after it was confirmed last night that the second-row has moved to Castleford with immediate effect.

Mellor has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Tigers, and could make his debut for them this Sunday against Catalans.

He told Castleford's club website: “It feels good, it’s been a bit of a long process getting things sorted, so to finally have it all figured out is a good feeling.

“Back-row suits my play style. I think I’m a bloke who is going to put his head down and work hard for you, come up with some plays when I need to but put the team first and do every little thing I can to make the team better.”
