BRADFORD City fans were given their first chance to get kitted out for next season at the club’s new store.

The Bantams officially opened their new club store and ticket office in the South Parade section of their Valley Parade home.

Supporters were able to get their hands on the club’s new home kit, which was unveiled via social media last week, and sees them revert back to their traditional claret and amber stripes.

The store featured a host of home replica kits and training wear, the first to be made by City’s new kit supplier Macron, as part of their six-year deal announced last month.

The Bantams are set to release away and third choice strips in due course and their new season kicks off next month.

A few supporters paid an early visit to the new store to get their hands on the eagerly-awaited home strip.

Tim Beckett, 66, of Bingley, bought the new Bantams jersey from the store.

The season ticket holder, who first watched City in 1970, also bought a home strip for his two-year-old grandson Thomas.

Mr Beckett said: “The shop is back to where it used to be before. It is set out really nicely.

“The new home shirt is fantastic. Macron make some good kits.

“It’s brilliant and it’s right for us to be in claret and amber stripes, they are our colours. They have fiddled about with it and it should be the stripes all of the time.”

He said: “It’s a very nice new shirt. It was my first season as a season ticket holder last year.

“I always like to support the local football club where I live.”
