THE Bantams are set to face a tough Papa John's Trophy group, after two of their opponents were confirmed this lunchtime.

Mark Hughes' side have been placed in Northern Group H alongside Sheffield Wednesday and Burton Albion, both League One sides.

Wednesday almost made it back into the Championship at the first attempt following relegation, but lost their play-off semi final to eventually promoted Sunderland last month.

Burton ended up 16th in League One last term.

The trio will not find out the fourth and final member of Northern Group H until Thursday, which will be the U21s side from any of eight Premier League clubs.

Those are Everton, Manchester United, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester City, Leeds, Leicester and Wolves.

Who plays who home and away will also be determined on Thursday, with the group games taking place on the weeks commencing on August 29, September 19 and October 17.

Thursday will also see City find out who they are facing in the League Cup first round, for which they have been allocated ball seven.
