WITH Paudie O'Connor having departed for Lincoln, it is likely that City will be in the market for a new centre-half.

And one name is being bandied about above all others.

Timi Odusina made 43 appearances in all competitions for Hartlepool last season, and was the North-East side's standout player in their game against City at Victoria Park back in March.

He only missed two games from December 8, having only featured once in seven games before that.

The former Norwich City defender helped his side to eight clean sheets, as the newly-promoted side did themselves proud, finishing a creditable 17th in League Two and comfortably avoiding the drop.

Left-footed centre-back Odusina is quick, strong and good in possession, and would seemingly be a good fit for the expansive football Mark Hughes will be asking for from City next term.

Like O'Connor, Odusina, who is still only 22, was offered a contract by his club at the end of last season, but he has not accepted it as yet.

City have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, with the likes of Jake Young and Kian Harratt putting pen to paper, but a few more signings like this one would not go amiss.
