MATT Butcher is the latest name to be linked with City in the summer rumour mill.
The 25-year-old left-footed midfielder is a free agent after rejecting a new deal to stay at Accrington.
Butcher made 36 appearances for the League One side last season and scored four goals.
Bristol Rovers and Fleetwood are also thought to be interested, as well as Scottish duo St Mirren and Motherwell.
Butcher came through the youth ranks at Bournemouth and made two appearances for the Cherries, including an FA Cup start at Birmingham in 2016. He joined Accrington two years ago.
