IT WAS a strange start to his City career for Luton loanee Dion Pereira, but the Bantams fans grew rather fond of him in the end.

And he has delivered an emotional farewell which suggests he may be open to a return to the club.

On Twitter, he has released a minute-long highlight reel of his time at the Bantams, as well as a voiceover explaining how he wanted to prove to the fans what he could do.

He has captioned it with the message: "Thoroughly enjoyed my last few months here at Bradford.

"Want to say massive thanks to the fans, coaching staff and my team mates. Future is bright for this club. Thanks again and hopefully see you soon (wink emoji)."

And is that wink which has kept the fans guessing, as they hope to see him back in an attacking arsenal that will contain the likes of Jamie Walker and Lee Angol for next term.

Pereira of course did not play for two months after becoming Derek Adams' first loan signing in January, with a combination of injury and illness keeping him sidelined.

The Luton man was in danger of becoming a bit of a joke figure, but anyone laughing at him soon stopped when they saw his performances.

He first appeared in the wins over Forest Green and Hartlepool, scored a lovely goal against Bristol Rovers, and proved a bright spark throughout those final few months of the season.

Walker has already made his loan move permanent, could Pereira follow suit?
