IT HAS been a poignant weekend at Valley Parade.
The club's annual memorial fixture for the victims of the 1985 Valley Parade Fire Disaster was held there on Saturday against Carlisle, with a minute's silence before the game and a minute's applause after 56 minutes of the contest, to represent all of those who passed away.
And yesterday, tributes were paid to Tomi Solomon at Valley Parade, in the form of a friendly fixture between City’s and Brighouse Town’s respective Under-14s sides.
The Bradford City Academy youngster sadly drowned last year in the River Calder, and many of his former team-mates took to the field yesterday to honour him.
Buckets were on hand around the stadium on the day to collect donations, with all profits taken from the game being sent directly to The King's Church, Halifax, at the request of Tomi’s family.
