JAMIE Walker has put pen to paper on a permanent City deal, declaring: “It feels great.”

The Bantams tonight announced the Scot’s capture on a two-year contract once his current one at Hearts expires.

Walker has become a firm favourite after spending the last four months on loan at Valley Parade. He has made 19 appearances and scored four goals, including one in each of the last three home games.

“This was the only football decision I wanted to make,” said the 28-year-old. “I am delighted to be here permanently.

“It has been a tough season for the club but the ambition is something that was a big factor in me signing.

“The manager has Premier League experience and the club is heading in the right direction. The last three performances have shown that.

“Hopefully, we can use it as a springboard heading into next season and achieve what we want to achieve.”

Mark Hughes began his rebuild earlier this week with a new one-year deal for Lee Angol. Walker will be seen as a statement capture as a hectic summer’s business for the City boss prepares to hot up.
