ABO Eisa might get one last hurrah before the end of his injury-ruined first season at City.

The winger has not played since November after undergoing a hamstring operation.

Eisa, who has another year on his contract, continues to train fully with the squad after a lengthy rehab – and is itching for another chance.

Mark Hughes will not take him to Sutton on Saturday – but has not ruled out a possible involvement against Carlisle on the final day.

Hughes said: “He’s training well, he’s in the group. But we’re conscious of the fact that he’s been out for such a long time and we want to be extra careful with him.

“We’ll see how he goes for next week. He’s probably not involved for this weekend but his best chance is the following week.

“He’s knocked on the door already, which is good. He wants to be part of what we’re doing and is encouraged by it.”

Eisa has made just four appearances – and was forced off injured in his only start against former club Scunthorpe.

Hughes added: “He’s got next year with us anyway, so we don’t want to push him if it’s going to compromise him. He doesn’t need to rush things, which would be dangerous for him.

“We see flashes of his ability in training and that whets the appetite to look forward to seeing him when he does come back.

“He doesn’t look like he’s compromised by the injury. I think that’s in the back of his mind.

“He’s back and training fully with the group. We’re not managing his work-load, he’s just doing everything the same as everybody else.

“We’re just aware that game time has been limited for him and that’s the element of his fitness that he needs.”
