FINN Cousin-Dawson had the honour of playing for Northern Ireland's Under-21s against their French counterparts last night.

The Bantams right-back was on the pitch for all 90 minutes of the friendly, but he and his team-mates had a tough time of it.

Northern Ireland put in a decent performance for the first hour or so, almost taking a shock lead through John McGovern and going into the break just 1-0 down.

But France overpowered them in the final 25 minutes, scoring four more times to record a 5-0 win.

Cousin-Dawson was named in the Northern Ireland squad for both of their games over the last week, but he did not feature in their narrow 2-1 defeat to Slovakia in an Under-21 Euro Qualifier on Friday.
