A FOOTBALL legend has praised Bradford City's 'amazing fanbase' as he prepares to visit the city for a live show.

Matt Le Tissier, who played for Southampton only during his illustrious playing career, is one of the country's most popular football TV pundits set to bring their banter to Bradford for a live show.

The Pundits Tour show at St George's Hall on Thursday, February 10 from 7.30pm, will feature the stars of Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday both past and present.

Sky Sports' Jeff Stelling will be hosting, alongside former footballer stars; Paul Merson, Le Tissier, Phil Thompson and Charlie Nicholas.

The guests will give anecdotal stories about their playing days for some of football's top clubs, both on and off the field.

Ahead of his visit to the city, Le Tissier recalled his matches playing against the Bantams, now in League 2, praised the club's supporters and hopes they can climb the leagues.

Le Tissier recalls playing for the Saints in his side's 2-1 defeat to City at Valley Parade in April 2000 in the Premier League.

He said: "It's always quite sad when teams who have been in the Premier League fall from grace and drop down the divisions and end up where they have.

It's a real shame as Bradford have such a great support base. It should not happen to clubs like that. Hopefully they can climb back up

"I didn't really play much at Bradford. A much better recollection I have of playing against Bradford was when played them in one of those silly cups when English clubs were banned from Europe, like the Simod Cup."

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Mr Le Tissier added the boys will also be staying over in the area after Thursday's show and he added that it would be 'rude not to' go for a curry in Bradford.

He said: "I'm looking forward to coming to Bradford. The tour has been great fun.

"The people who come to the show can expect lots of funny stories from our time together on Soccer Saturday and also behind the scenes.

"There is a questions and answers section of the show and we always get asked a couple of questions that we've never been asked before."

He added people who attend the show can expect to hear plenty of funny stories about former Bantams player and manager Chris Kamara, who is a fellow regular on the show as a match reporter.

He says Stelling tells lots of stories about his and Kammy's exploits during trips to World Cups over the years and despite often hearing the stories, they still make him laugh.

Le Tissier added: "We all get on really well and had some great debates and we all love our football really."
