DEREK Adams fears City will not see Lee Angol again this season.

The striker suffered another hamstring injury in the second half of today’s 0-0 draw at Rochdale.

Angol suddenly pulled up as he charged into the box ready to shoot. It was the left hamstring this time - not the one that he has previously had problems with.

Adams said: “He was going through and away to shoot, hit the target, score whatever but he’s pulled up.

“It’s a huge disappointment for him and even bigger for the football club.

“You saw his movement in the first half and the way he takes the ball and comes off defenders. He’s a big player for us and I’d say we’re going to miss him now for the rest of the season.”

Angol’s lengthy absence will heighten the need for City to land a target in their on-going hunt for a striker in the remaining nine days of the transfer window.

There were few clear-cut chances in a dour game – Jamie Walker having the only real opportunities for City with shots from outside the box.

Adams added: “With the manner of the game, the two teams didn’t really deserve to win it.

“I don’t think Rochdale created any real opportunities and we didn’t create enough.

“I thought we were the better team in the first half with the way we kept the ball and got into really good areas.

“We dealt with their threat and if there was a team who was going to score in that first half it was us.

“We obviously had to make changes when Elliot Watt had to come off injured. We missed him because of his ability to get on the ball and pass it.

“Then Angol pulled up in the second half. They were two big players that affected us.

“We had to deal more with Rochdale’s threat in the second half without them having any real big chances. We had more opportunities from long range rather than in that six-yard box.”

Watt suffered a medial-ligament injury in a tackle and will certainly miss Tuesday’s game at Walsall but Adams hopes to have a new face in for that game.
