CITY are looking to send Reece Staunton and Kian Scales back out on loan.

The young duo have only recently returned to Valley Parade after spells in the National League North.

Staunton has been playing for Mark Bower at Bradford (Park Avenue) – his second stint with the club – while Scales featured with James Hanson for Farsley Celtic.

Derek Adams confirmed that the pair are available to go on loan again but have turned down the interest so far.

He said: “They’ve been offered to go back out on loan. But between themselves and their agents, the clubs and the level they want to go to hasn’t come to fruition just yet.

“We’ve obviously got a bit to go in the transfer window. But, as we know, we can do 28-day loans for them after that.

“They are just waiting for the right opportunity. They don’t feel that the clubs that have come in are the right place for them.”

Adams believes that releasing Jorge Sikora now will give the 20-year-old a better chance to find somewhere new.

It was announced earlier that the centre half’s contract, which was due to run until the end of the season, had been cancelled by mutual consent.

Sikora had played just once for Adams in the Papa John’s Trophy and returned to City last month from a loan spell with Spennymoor Town.

“Jorge wanted to go and get first-team football and he wasn’t going to get that here,” said Adams.

“The best thing for him was rather than staying here for the rest of the season, this gives him a better opportunity of getting a long-term contract at another club.

“Otherwise, he would have waited until the summer when everybody else is free and it would have been harder for him.

“We were just trying to look after him because he’s been at the football club from a young age and we’re trying to help his career progress.

“Wherever he goes now, he’s had that opportunity to go out on loan and test himself. He’s learned from that and that will only help him.”
