JORGE Sikora has left City after they mutually agreed to cancel his contract.

The young centre half, who joined the club as an under-13, signed his first pro deal in the summer of 2020 before penning a one-year extension in June.

But he is moving on pursue other playing opportunities after making just one appearance this season against Manchester United under-21s in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Sikora also had a spell on loan at Spennymoor Town before Christmas. In total, the 19-year-old played six times for the Bantams - under five different managers.

He said: “I would like to thank everyone at Bradford City who has helped me and been a part of my experience over the past six years, in the academy and first team.

“It was a mutual agreement between the club and I for me to leave, with everything in my best interests and allowing me to play football elsewhere.

“This club has enabled me to fulfil a childhood dream by playing professional football and I wish it the very best for the future.”

Sikora was handed his senior debut by Gary Bowyer as a 17-year-old when he came off the bench against Manchester City’s under-21s in the Football League Trophy in September 2019.

He played three more times in the competition last season under Stuart McCall before making his league debut for Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars against Derek Adams' Morecambe on the final day.
