DEREK Adams is confident of landing City’s next window capture as reports claim Hearts winger Jamie Walker is on his way.

Sources in Scotland say the 28-year-old forward is poised to clinch a loan deal at Valley Parade.

Adams, who will meet fans at a question-and-answer session at Valley Parade tonight, has not revealed any names.

But he does anticipate bringing in another recruit following last week’s arrival of Dion Pereira from Luton.

“We’ve added Pereira and we will probably add before the weekend,” said the City boss.

“We have a strong position just now with signing a player. We’re hopeful we can get it over the line before the weekend.

“We’ve been looking for a player of his type that can get at defenders, take the ball for a run and find that through pass that our strikers can take.”

News of another imminent signing will help to placate the City faithful following the miserable defeat at Carlisle on Saturday.

Adams is well used to fans’ forums from his time at Plymouth and is braced for some tricky questioning alongside chief executive Ryan Sparks at the sold-out event.

He added: “Over the years when you’re at a big club like Plymouth Argyle, you have supporters’ forums quite regularly.

“It’s only right that the supporters get an opportunity to ask the questions. As a manager, we try to answer as best we can.

“It’s sometimes difficult because you can’t go into the greater detail about the inner goings-on of personnel in a football club.

“But we’ve obviously got to be open and transparent with the supporters.

“It doesn’t matter if you are at the top of the league or bottom, you’ll always get supporters wanting to ask questions so they can go home and tell their friends and family what they’ve asked the manager.

“That’s just the nature of it. We’ll do our best to answer as best we can.

“This football club wants to get itself in a better position than it’s in at this moment in time. That’s why I came here to try and help achieve that.

“We all feel that we should be a good number of places higher than we are right now and we’ve got the second half of the season to do that.”
