CITY had only SIX players available for their postponed Christmas games.

Derek Adams this afternoon revealed the extent of how much the club have suffered from the Omicron variant sweeping through the dressing room.

The Bantams hope to finally get back to it at Barrow on Saturday after three games were called off because of their chronic lack of fit numbers.

Adams said: “We only had six players available to us so there was no choice with the EFL if we could have played the three games or not.

“That’s the reason they were off.”

Adams spoke in the Telegraph & Argus earlier in the week about how the only ones among the Valley Parade playing and coaching staff to not be affected by the outbreak had all been fully vaccinated and had their boosters.

But he insists that it would not be right to make people have the jabs if they felt uncomfortable about it.

“I don’t think anybody should be forced to make a decision that they feel strongly about,” he added.

“That’s all over the world. We talk about it in so many different ways.

“We look at discrimination, religion etc and we don’t try and force that down people’s throats, so to speak.

“It would be wrong to do that to an individual who has strong beliefs on why they shouldn’t have the injection.

“It’s totally up to an individual why they think it’s good for them. There are some people in the world who don’t think the injection is right and that’s their own opinion.

“We should all respect people for having their own opinion.

“It’s not a dictatorship. It shouldn’t be that way – it should be open to people suggesting why they should get the injection or not.”
