CITY’S training regime is not behind the glut of hamstring injuries that have plagued the squad.

Boss Derek Adams insisted the on-going run of similar problems with his players is not down to the arduous work-load between matches.

Abo Eisa became the latest victim at Scunthorpe on Saturday when he pinged his left hamstring – the same one that had kept him out since August.

Charles Vernam is also out of tonight’s FA Cup replay replay at Exeter with a similar issue, while Lee Angol missed nearly three months when his historical problem resurfaced.

Adams is determined to get to the bottom of an issue that continues to derail City’s season.

But he stressed it was not down to what is demanded in practice.

Adams said: “It’s nothing to do with the training, I know that for a fact.

“I’ve obviously been over the course many years with tried and tested ways that work.

“This is something that has never happened before so I wouldn’t go down that route.”
