STUART McCall has returned to Sheffield United as assistant manager to new boss Paul Heckingbottom.
Former Bantams left back Heckingbottom has been installed in the Bramall Lane hot-seat after the Championship side parted company with Slavisa Jokanovic.
And he has brought in McCall, his former Valley Parade manager, as part of the coaching team.
McCall, who had been at Blackpool since the summer, first joined the Blades in 2002 as a player after leaving City. He was number two to Neil Warnock until 2007 – when he came back to Valley Parade for the first of his three managerial stints.
Heckingbottom has agreed a four-year deal and will take training for the first time tomorrow. Sheffield United play Bristol City on Sunday.
Chairman Yusuf Giansiracusa said: “We look forward to embarking on a new era in Blades football with Paul at the helm.”
