FINN Cousin-Dawson is hoping to help Northern Ireland under-21s to back-to-back wins after playing his first full international game.

The City defender was in the starting line-up for the 4-0 win over Lithuania at Ballymena and is waiting to see if he will feature again when the young Irish face Malta in Lurgan tomorrow.

Cousin-Dawson’s progress is being closely monitored by the club and City scout Alan Young checked in with the 19-year-old over the weekend.

Derek Adams said: “My Irish scout went to meet him at the team hotel yesterday.

“Finn’s unsure if he will start tomorrow night in the game against Malta. But to get 90 minutes for the under-21s really helps him in his development.”

The second win in five games lifted the Irish off the bottom of their Euro 2021 qualifying group.

Meanwhile, Adams will make a late call on Caolan Lavery before the Bantams set off this afternoon for their FA Cup first-round replay at Exeter.

The Canadian striker has missed the last three games after getting off the mark with a goal in last month’s win at Swindon.

Adams said: “He’s the one we are going to assess to see if he is going to come with us or not. The only one who is definitely out is Andy Cook.”
