REECE Staunton is following Kian Scales out of Valley Parade for a month on loan.

The teenage defender is linking up with Bradford (Park Avenue) for a second time.

His temporary exit comes after Scales joined National League North neighbours Farsley Celtic last night.

With key City players now coming back from injury, Derek Adams has allowed both youngsters to go out and get some more minutes under their belt.

They are on loan for an initial 28 days – if extended, the Bantams would be able to recall them at any time from that point.

Staunton and Scales played in the Papa John’s Trophy at Sunderland – with Staunton setting up Theo Robinson’s goal and clearing one off the line.

Adams praised the defender’s performance afterwards but also revealed that a potential loan deal was in the offing.

It will be Staunton’s second spell at Horsfall Stadium after a previous loan with Mark Bower’s side in November 2019.
