THE Women's FA Cup finally gets underway this weekend and Bradford City prepare to face off with Ossett United.

Sunday's fixture will see the two sides clash at the Mitton Group Stadium, and City who play their football in the league above their opposition, will no doubt be going into this one as favourites.

A second round spot awaits the winner, but City boss Chris Hames believes his side should not underestimate the quality of Ossett.

He said: "It's going to be a tough fixture and we are not under any illusions about the game being easy, just because they are in the league below.

"For them, it means a lot to play us and they will be hungry to turn us over.

"Because it's a cup game as well, it probably adds even more to it so we know it's going to be tough, but we believe in our ability and we just want to make sure we can express that."

"We are in the league above and we are at home, but I don't think that adds anymore pressure to the situation. We put pressure on ourselves to perform anyway.

"We know that the league is our priority at the moment and it's been a long time since we played in the league, but we won't be treating this game any different to how we would treat a league game.

"It's a great opportunity for us to get ready and prepared for when we do return to league action against Norton next week.

"As I've mentioned, we are expecting a tough game. Ossett will be very physical and bring a lot of intensity to the fixture.

"Whenever we've played them in the past, they make it a competition and they take pride in trying to cause damage to us or make it as difficult as possible."

Despite losing their most recent league fixture 3-0 at Liverpool Feds, City should be able to focus on the positives from their recent victory against bitter rivals Leeds United at Valley Parade.

Hames spoke glowingly about the evening and his side's performance at Bradford's ground.

He said: "It was a great night for Bradford City Women as a club, but for us it's all about the work that we are trying to build up towards.

"The win was nice against a rival, but the win was nice because it paints a picture of what we are working towards in the league.

"As a club, we haven't had enough of those kind of nights and victories over the last few years for various reasons, so to see a win like that come off is a testament to how hard we've worked to get to that point.

"I do think it's a significant win for everyone involved with the club. You could see the relief on the night in getting another three points and at that point it was two wins in three games.

"It was just nice for everyone to know and realise that we are putting in the right work and right amount of work.

"It also emphasised that our game plan does work and that it gets us results, and to beat a big rival like Leeds in front of spectators at Valley Parade, it was just a fantastic night for everyone involved at City."
