LAST Sunday, Bradford Disability FC hosted their fifth annual tournament at Bradford Grammar School.

Around 50 teams attended on the day, travelling from all over England, from the likes of Sheffield, Tyneside and Essex, and more locally from Harrogate and Saltaire etc.

There was plenty of food and drink on offer at the event and there was even an ice cream van on standby for an extra treat.

To help raise money for the club, there was a tombola and raffle stall, which raised £200 on the day.

In the morning, the teams were put into grading games to see which ability league they would go into in the afternoon.

City's junior teams played all morning and were awarded their medals in the afternoon.

The adult teams then played their league fixtures, with some fantastic football being played, no matter what level.

The special guest this year to hand out medals and trophies was none other than Bradford pantomime legend Billy Pearce, who took time to meet the teams and have photos taken with everyone.

It takes time and effort for the BDFC trustees to arrange this event, especially this year after the Covid pandemic, but it really is a very special day and everyone has a great time.

It was arguably just what everyone needed after 2020.

Bradford Disability Football Club run weekly football training sessions for children and adults with disabilities.
