ANDY Cook wants City to take out their weekend frustration on Hartlepool after blowing another home win.

Tomorrow night’s game at Valley Parade offers an immediate chance to get over the 2-2 draw with Bristol Rovers.

The visitors snatched a 90th-minute equaliser to leave the Bantams kicking themselves for not sealing a game that they had bossed for large parts.

Cook, who scored City’s second to put them back in front early in the second half, is relieved to have another game straight away to make amends.

The striker said: “It’s good to be able to get it straight out the system. That’s what we need to do.

“We’re still unbeaten at home but we’ve got to start turning these draws into wins.

“Every team wants to play here – look at the pitch, it’s immaculate, it’s a big ground and they all want to come here. Hartlepool will be no different.

“We’ve got to deal with that, just play our game and hopefully this time take all three points.”

A win on Saturday would have lifted Derek Adams’ men into sixth spot.

They are only one point away from the play-off places but Cook was annoyed at the victory that got away. City were again cursing missed chances – which has become a common theme so far.

“We had some great chances again and not taken them – and it’s come back and bitten us at the end,” added Cook.

“They didn’t create anything in the first half. I felt we were on top of them with everything we did.

“We got chances from that and we should have been two or three up. But we didn’t take them and it’s cost us.

“I speak for myself as well. I should be on more goals this season than I am.

“It is frustrating but you’ve got to keep getting into those positions and hopefully get more goals.”

Cook finished a cross from earlier scorer Charles Vernam to net his sixth of the season within two minutes of Bristol Rovers levelling for the first time.

“We went up the other end and scored straight away. I was thinking then, ‘right, let’s go and get another’.

“It looked like we would – and I thought I’d got another but the flag was up for offside.”

But Brett Pitman made City pay for failing to kill off the contest with a precise header from an Antony Evans cross delivered from 30 yards out. There were a few boos from fans at the final whistle.

Cook said: “It was an unbelievable header but we shouldn’t be letting balls in the box from there.

“They were buzzing at the end but you’re going to be, getting a goal that late.

“I get the frustration among the fans. We’re frustrated to lose a win late on like that.

“But I know it is going to click for us. We are still creating chances and there will be a time when we will take them – we’ve just got to keep at it.”

Adams added: "You just have to bide time with the players and they will eventually put the ball in the net."

Liam Ridehalgh will be out after damaging his thigh while making a cross in the first half. Adams also confirmed that Abo Eisa suffered a recurrence with his hamstring injury before training on Friday.
